Finishing Strong

…………..A new Dawn

The year 2008 slowly draws to a close
As things wrap up, another book has been written
And the final chapter is about to end.
Looking back on the memories and events,
There will be smiles and sighs
We all have something to celebrate and something to improve on.

Looking through my album
I am taken adrift
There’s Yemisi in her dazzling white wedding gown
Unfortunately that picture became smeared with tear drops.
She painfully carries the remains of a marriage that didn’t happen

That’s just one story from the album of 2008
How about when Obi was avoided like a plague by all the employers
Or when Mrs Jacobs was left to pick up the pieces of her broken home
Never in my life, had I thought life could be so unfair!

In spite of all this, nothing eludes the Master’s touch.
Absolutely nothing!
2009 marks a new beginning
An opportunity for new life, new success and new joy to burst forth
It’s a chance to take another stab at life and rewrite your story
Let your willingness to be free from pain and sorrow soar high

The past is the past but the future begins now
Be refreshed with strength from above
Let God help you compensate for the wasted time.
Start a new leaf with God, no more bench-warming
Take a step and be involved in the kingdom
Let all believers spice up the world around them;
Let your light shine for others to followlife is only as difficult as you make it to bewhy worry when you can pray?
Forge ahead, finish strong and break through into the new year.
It’s a new dawn, a new page and a new story.

The meaning of CHRISTMAS

C- Christ

John 3:16 - for God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son sop that whoever believes in hi may not be lost but have eternal life.

Christmas is Jesus Christ honoured and magnified in our hearts and lives.

H- Happiness

Luke 2:10 - then the angel said to them “do not be afraid, I am bringing you good news that will be a great joy to all the people.”

Happiness goes deep; it reaches the heart of man. This joy is found in Jesus Christ.

R- Redemption

Galatians 4:4-5 – but when the right time came, God sent his son who was born of a woman and lived under the law. God did this so he could buy freedom for those who were under the law so we could become his children

Christ came to save us from sin. That is why He was born into this world. He came to provide us with life and hope

I- Illumination

Isaiah 9:6-7 - A child has been born to us, God has given a son to us. He will be responsible for leading the people. His name is wonderful counsellor, powerful god, father who lives for ever, prince of peace.

Power and peace will be in his kingdom and continue to grow forever. He will rule as king on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom. He will make it strong by ruling with justice and from now on and forever. The lord all-powerful will do this because of his strong love for his people.

It is a time of illumination as we realize that Christ is the Son of God. A light has been lit, we have a father who can do all things!

S- Sacrifice Matthew 1:21 - And she will; give birth to a son, and you will name him JESUS because he will save his people from their sins.

To save lost humanity from sin demanded a blood sacrifice. Christ came to give Himself as that sacrifice that all who believe in Him might be eternally saved.

T- Triumph
Isaiah 26:3 – You lord, give true peace to those who depend on you because they trust you.

When we know Christ, we have the peace within, and what a mighty triumph this is over the afflictions and sorrows of life. There is great triumph in the message of Christmas, the result being the peace of God which passes all understanding. Christmas reminds us of the overwhelming victory wrought by Jesus Christ.

M- Mission

Luke 19:10 - that the Son of Man came to find lost people and save them

Christmas embodies the mission of the coming of the Son of God to provide salvation for all. What a thrill to know Christ!

A- Assurance

Micah 5:2 - But thou, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are too small to be among the army groups from Judah, from you will come one who will rule Israel for me. He comes from very old times, from days long ago.

The prophecy of the little baby who was born into this world at Christmas was for him to become the ruler of the world. He will return to do this, not as a little baby rather He will be King of kings, and Lord of lords.

S- Submission

John 3:30, He must become greater, and I must become less important.

Christmas should be a time when every believer recommits his life to the control of Christ

***Merry Christmas**
with love,

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history.
With your bitter, twisted lies.
You may trod me in the very dirt.
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells,
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides.
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard.
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines,
Diggin' in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness.
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise,
That I dance like I've got diamonds,
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame

I rise

Up from a past that's rooted in pain

I rise

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.

By Maya Angelou

This poem really inspired me when I read it. It talks about having self confidence and knowing that no matter how much dirt life shoves on you, be confident that you will RISE!

Enjoy...

When anger turns to Rage

Fire coursing through my veins,
steam expelled as the cool droplets of rain
pour on my head and run down to my tiny toes,
my face as hot as fresh black coal.
They’ve been getting on my nerves but this time they went too far.
My mind becomes a waste yard for negative emotions,
not even degradable by the strongest love potions.
Never disposed off, the refuse heap is now piled up.
She applied the last tiny pressure
And I exploded!
Tick. Tock. boom!! Like a bomb or a gun fully loaded
I Exploded.
They made me explode.
She made me explode and now the flames, even more intense
radiates to my surroundings, crossing every fence.
Last I remember, the fire burnt down the bridge connecting us together.
Then it dried up love.
Now the fire is out of control and it’s just me against the world.

...............................................................................................

A piece of advice: when your anger stats getting out of control, check yourself. Anger is very dangerous and it does damages that we sometimes cannot reverse!

OBAMA for the States!

America has changed—so its time to change your views about the country.

"Barack Obama's victory in yesterday's presidential election is a watershed for his country. His triumph is historic not merely because he is the first African-American – indeed the first representative of any of the minorities who now account for a third of the US population – to secure the nation's highest political office. It also comes at an extraordinary confluence of turning points: political, generational and economic.
Having spent his childhood in Hawaii, on the very edge of America proper, and in Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country, Mr Obama is better placed than any US leader before him to grasp how the rest of the world sees America. Mr Bush's inability to do so was a major reason for the failure of his presidency on the world stage. Mr Obama's very background, coupled with a relative decline in US global power, means diplomacy will make a welcome return as America's preferred method of conducting foreign policy"

"Mr Obama has never run anything, it is said. Not true. He has run arguably the longest, the biggest and the best organised campaign ever. Its discipline has been astonishing – in contrast to the campaign of Mrs Clinton that was once supposed to sweep all before it. And he has taken on the Democratic Party establishment as represented by the Clintons. In two years, Mr Obama has not made a major blunder. Yes, he has had a dedicated, top-notch team around him. But that too augurs well. Clearly, Mr Obama knows how to put the right people in the right jobs, a vital part of being president. And then, of course, he has style. Not since JFK will America have had as charismatic and inspirational a leader. Charisma and soaring oratory do not guarantee good government. But America is demoralised, exhausted and broke. It needs to turn the page on its recent past. And for that, it needs words, as well as deeds, to inspire it."

"The election of Barack Obama will be a gamble. He may prove a disappointment like Jimmy Carter – another leader who emerged from nowhere, full of good intentions but overwhelmed by the job. There is no knowing. Nothing quite prepares a man for the presidency.
What is certain is that Mr Obama provides excitement, a desperately needed jolt of political electricity. If he is elected, America will instantly be seen in a new light around the world – not just because the unloved George Bush is gone, but because the country has found it within itself to turn to someone truly new, whose astonishing ascent could have happened nowhere else on earth. Only in America."

Kick Poverty out!.

Poverty

What is it?

It is deprivation of common necessities that determine the quality of life, including food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, and may also include the deprivation of opportunities to learn, to obtain better employment to escape poverty, and/or to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens.

And the effects:

*Those living in poverty and lacking access to essential health services, suffering hunger or even starvation, experience mental and physical health problems which make it harder for them to improve their situation.
One third of deaths (that is 18 million people a year or 50,000 per day)- are due to poverty-related causes.*

Every year nearly 11 million children living in poverty die before their fifth birthday.

800 million people go to bed hungry every night.

There are over 100 million street children worldwide.

*About 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes according to the United Nations.*

"Yet there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. The problem is that hungry people are trapped in severe poverty. They lack the money to buy enough food to nourish themselves. Being constantly malnourished, they become weaker and often sick. This makes them increasingly less able to work, which then makes them even poorer and hungrier. This downward spiral often continues until death for them and their families."

AIDS is now second only to the Black Death as the largest epidemic in history.

It kills over 2 million people a year, or about one person every 15 seconds.

Poverty

How can you say we are rich,

when we have no food?

we scurry about and shriek

like rats in search of water.

Our bodies are dry,withered branches

our skin has become pale like the grey sky

we no longer since and dance

for we live in poverty

Our ancestors have always said

"we are blessed by the gods"

where are they now? have they no mercy?

bestow on us some affluence

Is it not true that we once glowed

under the shimmering sun?

we sang and rejoiced and grew fat.

but now our riches have disappeared

and we live in poverty.

The many faces of POVERTY

Poverty in the developing world, however, goes far beyond income poverty. It means having to walk more than one mile everyday simply to collect water and firewood; it means suffering diseases that were eradicated from rich countries decades ago.

Every year eleven million children die—most under the age of five and more than six million from completely preventable causes like malaria, diarrhea and pneumonia.

In some deeply impoverished nations less than half of the children are in primary school and under 20 percent go to secondary school. Around the world, a total of 114 million children do not get even a basic education and 584 million women are illiterate.

here are the facts in detail:

■ Every year six million children die from malnutrition before their fifth birthday.
■ More than 50 percent of Africans suffer from water-related diseases such as cholera and infant diarrhea.
■ Everyday HIV/AIDS kills 6,000 people and another 8,200 people are infected with this deadly virus.
■ Every 30 seconds an African child dies of malaria—more than one million child deaths a year.
■ Each year, approximately 300 to 500 million people are infected with malaria. Approximately three
million people die as a result.
■ TB is the leading AIDS-related killer and in some parts of Africa, 75 percent of people with HIV also have TB.

*(TB= tuberculosis)

■ More than 800 million people go to bed hungry every day...300 million are children.
■ Of these 300 million children, only eight percent are victims of famine or other emergency situations.
More than 90 percent are suffering long-term malnourishment and micronutrient deficiency.
■ Every 3.6 seconds another person dies of starvation and the large majority are children under the age of 5.

■ More than 2.6 billion people—over 40 per cent of the world’s population—do not have basic sanitation,
and more than one billion people still use unsafe sources of drinking water.
■ Four out of every ten people in the world don’t have access even to a simple latrine.
■ Five million people, mostly children, die each year from water-borne diseases.

■ In 1960, Africa was a net exporter of food; today the continent imports one-third of its grain.
■ More than 40 percent of Africans do not even have the ability to obtain sufficient food on a day-today
basis.
■ Declining soil fertility, land degradation, and the AIDS pandemic have led to a 23 percent decrease
in food production per capita in the last 25 years even though population has increased dramatically.
■ For the African farmer, conventional fertilizers cost two to six times more than the world market price.

■ Above 80 percent of farmers in Africa are women.
■ More than 40 percent of women in Africa do not have access to basic education.
■ If a girl is educated for six years or more, as an adult her prenatal care, postnatal care and childbirth
survival rates, will dramatically and consistently improve.
■ Educated mothers immunize their children 50 percent more often than mothers who are not educated.
■ AIDS spreads twice as quickly among uneducated girls than among girls that have even some schooling.
■ The children of a woman with five years of primary school education have a survival rate 40 percent
higher than children of women with no education.
■ A woman living in sub-Saharan Africa has a 1 in 16 chance of dying in pregnancy or childbirth.
This compares with a 1 in 3,700 risk for a woman from North America.
■ Every minute, a woman somewhere dies in pregnancy or childbirth. This adds up to 1,400 women
dying each day—an estimated 529,000 each year—from pregnancy-related causes.
■ Almost half of births in developing countries take place without the help of a skilled birth attendant.

A tribute to Nelson Mandela

Rolihlahla, mama called him
The innocent troublemaker of the town
He had his life ahead of him;
A future to look forward to

The injustice of the government
Fuelled the raging fire in him.
‘Madiba’, they nicknamed him-
An activist for peace was born.

Equal rights was the target
Peace was the only key
Justice was his drive
His people must be free.

In the fight for freedom
He ended up prisoner,
Locked behind bars
Tagged 46664.

But metal bars never stopped him,
Not the hard labour or even the lime mining
He had a reason to fight
And if need be, to die.

On Robben Island
A community was formed.
A generation of young activists
Who shared in his fight.

It spread on like wildfire
Soon all voices united
The people sang and cried
Free nelson Mandel!

On that faithful day of spring
In the year 1990
When for the first time, a baby cried
Alas! He was set free.

And now, he has achieved his dream
The rest is up to us all
We must be the voice of the underprivileged
46664…it’s in our hands

The greatest leader of our time,
Spent 27 years in prison
How far would you go to help your brother?
How much would you give of your time?

Remember the number,
Remember the man: Nelson Mandela
Because from now on,
It’s in our hands!

Language

The element of communication,
To many, a general phenomenon.
The syntax of words,
The phonology, grammar and semantics,
All coming together as one-
One language.

The words you speak,
Meaningful to you
And gibberish to another.
The words you know,
Whether living or dead language
Is modern to another.

The way I know how
To enter someone else’s head
Making them tick,
The way I know how
To go inside their skin
Living as another; a totally different person

The key to open doors,
Accessing the richness of another culture,
Acquiring a taste for the land.
The way your lips pucker
As you unveil your ‘couture’
Or the twitch in your arm on entry into Italian.

So language we must learn,
Making sure
It’s passed down
From one generation to the next.
Consequently, the element of communication
Remains alive and secure.

If I cannot understand what you say,
We can no longer be accepted as citizens
Of the same world.
This general phenomenon
Becomes gibberish to both of us!
Because I don’t understand your language.

School day

The sun streams in all its splendour,
Exhibiting a glistening reflection my window and back door,
Its luminosity beaming.
My eyes nictate
For a fraction of a second,
I still feel as though I were dreaming.

Wearily dragging the duvet over my head.
Mouth yawns and hands stretches,
Back elevates slightly as led.

I reach for my phone,
Check the time;
It’s only 6:09.
How easy it is to be mislead,
To think ‘tis time to plant poppy seeds.
But time is not just numbers, it shouldn’t be thrown
Time is precious; very well known.

I snuggle up under my bed cover,
Nestling once more comfortably in my domain,
Eyes shut to keep out the light and rediscover

Sleep takes control.
Drifting away in the world of dreams,
The wind brushes my face and whispers in my ear.
Soft music playing in the background,
The trees tower over the hills.
The alarm rings…

Quietly, moderately then loudly
Ri-iii-nnngg!! I snap out of my daze
It’s another school day!

Untitled*

What is wrong with me!?
I look, I see, I watch
I study how they treat each other
But when it comes to me,
The difference is clear.

What is wrong with me!?
Why is it that everytime
Those people only last for a while.
They come and go, never there to the end
Like they say they will be.
Those people who call themselves friends.

Am I just too tolerant and forgiving?
Trying to revive happiness and joy?
Bringing pace where there is none
And showing love where none exists?
Is that it? Is that what’s wrong?

The pain would have been easier to bear
If only less attitude and more words;
Talk to me,
I’ve got ears!

But I look, I see, I watch
I study how they act towards me,
Such hatred and non-chalant behaviour
Yet still, within their group
The difference is clear.

I’ll tell you what is wrong!
You’ve brewed in me fear-
Fear of reaching out to another.
Implanted defiance, the result of your neglect.
Now I hurt the people I should love;
To them I don’t care
I withdraw to my own world,
A place within me where I seek solace.
The confidence to reach out
Is no more there.

So tell me, why?
I’ll tell you…
Nothing was wrong but
Now, at this present moment
Something is really wrong with me!

i'm still looking for a title for this by the way, any suggestions?

Africa

Thus she had lain
sugercane sweet
deserts her hair
golden her feet
mountains her breasts
two Niles her tears.
Thus she has lain
Black through the years.

Over the white seas
rime white and cold
brigands ungentled
icicle bold
took her young daughters
sold her strong sons
churched her with Jesus
bled her with guns.
Thus she has lain.

Now she is rising
remember her pain
remember the losses
her screams loud and vain
remember her riches
her history slain
now she is striding
although she has lain.

And I Have You

Rain has drops

Sun has shine

Moon has beams

That make you mine

Rivers have banks

Sands for shores

Hearts have heartbeats

That make me yours

Needles have eyes

Though pins may prick

Elmer has glue

To make things stick

Winter has Spring

Stockings feet

Pepper has mint

To make it sweet

Teachers have lessons

Soup du jour

Lawyers sue bad folks

Doctors cure

All and all

This much is true

You have me

And I have you

Africa Is You

Black people,

Whatever shade your skin may be.

You are Africa,

Always Africa to me.

She dances in your eyes

To the drum beat

That is your heart.

Her roots have crossed waters

From Nigeria to New York.

Her spirit lives on,

In this black spectrum she is us.

Echoing in our laughter,

Our pain and sorrow too.

Black people you are Africa,

Africa is you.

Forgiveness

F------favoured, blesses and loved us
Broke us free from the enemy’s curse
O------original friend,
Always there till the end
R-------remembered us,
Lifted us and made us prosperous
G------gave us life,
Spent so much to make us nice
I-------infinite mercy always flows from his throne.
We were chosen to be his own
V------verified our rights to be his people,
Gave us bodies so complex and amazing yet simple
E------errors are cancelled by God-
The everlasting and glorious lord of all
N------never puts our mistakes into consideration;
Shows us love without condition
E------eternal king and prince of peace,
Always there to make sure our joy never ceases
S------sacred and secure, chastises us
And shed his blood to make us pure
S------sufficient grace,
Enough to satisfy us all our days

Happy new month!!

happy new month y'all!
I was reading someone's blog and the words in the post hit me..i think the words here are defintiely true..there's no better way of defining miracle.

"A miracle can best be descibed as a dumb man telling a deaf man that a blind man saw a crippled girl running to help a barren woman carry a baby!...can u beat that!!!It is a new month!EXPECT A MAJOR MIRACLE!"

i think you all should expect major miracles..create room, something is 'bout to happen

friends......Season, reaon or lifetime?

i was reading sha's blog and i came across this which i thought i should share:

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learnedto use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

it so funny(well not literally)..i've had issues with friends these poast weeks and it just leaves me wondering? am i alone in this world? do i have friends i can trust?
i'm just a bit worried 'cos it seems i keep losing my good friends..i mean they remain my friends until a certain point when they suddenly change anf decide to betray me or just to create an argument out of nothing..*sigh*

footprints in the sand

A man noticed that whenever he walked in the sand while he was happy, there were two sets of footprints.

He also noticed that when he was down, feeling sad and depressed, there was only one set of footprints. he then asked God why He abandoned him at the time he needed Him most as there was only one set of footprints.

man: "God, you said you will never forsake nor leave me"

God: "yes, i said that"

man: "then why is it that when i am stressed, sad and depressed you aren't there?"

God replied: "my child, those were the times i carried you."

The message here is that God is slways walking beside you..when you are going through tough times, He will carry you through. He is Faithful and stays true to his word!

So watch out for those footprints...

God bless.

Emotive reactions

Laughter on the face of a child
The calm and joy it brings
But slowly,
With a few deep words
The smile turns upside down
And from the pit of such a moody heart
Sadness bells forth…
Followed by depression and tears
But while on the brink of tears,
Some sweet words are spoken
Then joy and calm radiates
……to see laughter on the face of a child.

Black!

Black hands
Searching frantically
For hope, for life, for light
Black faces
Looking anxiously
For food, for shelter, for trust
Black children
Waiting patiently
For peace, for friendship, for love
Black women
Suffering silently
From domestic violence, rape and discrimination
Black men
Working hard continuously
To support, sustain and help the family survive
But:
What of our black leaders?
They are sitting and relaxing
Enjoying the loot of yesterday’s attack
And planning for tomorrow’s downfall
And:
Nigeria- our black nation
Cries in agony
Over the ongoing destruction
Her children’s pain has reached her ears
And she can hold it no longer
So:
We look to the creator of the blacks
To answer our prayers
To open the doors of heaven
And pour down HIS blessings
Afterall, we are tiny black children in
A black nation that we call our own
And we need some help
To pierce the black hearts
Of the black people.

Peace

War, violence hatred, murder
Why do we do it? Why even bother?
Can a man not live in peace with his brother?
Can we not wine and dine together?
We are supposed to be one big family;
To live in peace and harmony
We hassle each other for cash, for money
We take away lives and then guilt hits us suddenly.
Have we no heart, no fear, no mercy?
Can we not see that violence is not the key?
The hurt and damage we’ve caused the community
Do we just ignore it and call it hearsay?
Peace I tell you, peace can save us
Happiness, joy, tranquility, peace
That’s what we want, that’s what we should seek
We know it’s the truth; we should not play it false

Blessed are those that believe!

hey everyone! I've been out for about a week now...
sorry about that but I've had time to think and clear my head..
I've been stressed and worried in the past few months but I've felt calm this week.
My relationship with the one and only J.E.S.U.S has been 'ish' but i got it together this past week.
i figured something out :

'' it's not work that wears us out, but sadness, anxiety and worry. To God all your griefs are worthy of consideration''.

this has sort of been my motto for the week. i put everything in Gods hands and he is leading me through. sometimes i just wanna do my own thing but He knows best. Thank you Lord!!

Nightmare

Running running
As quickly as I can
Panting panting
So heavily that I can’t catch my breath
Screaming screaming
Too loud to make sense of the words
Thinking thinking
About what to do now and where to go
Aching aching
My legs and head hurt so much
Praying praying
To get out of this nightmare
Running running
Through the forest, away from the monster
Screaming
Calling out for help
Praying praying
To wake up from this unreality
Crying crying
As the monster advances
Waking waking
Gradually and slowly, I find myself in my room
Praying praying
Thanking God it was just a bad dream.

Lonely

Four walls around,
I am locked inside my own home
This home of loneliness
That I created by myself
The cobweb at the corner gets larger day by day
My side table creaks with every step I make
The door to my room remains opened
As if inviting me into a deeper place of isolation, where I lose touch of reality
Everyday is a routine
The same people walk past my veranda
And every night those footsteps disappear into the darkness
My every word seems to repel people from me
At the end of the day I sit and reminisce
On those days when children were my joy
…but somehow, I have lost sight of them.
The memories are now a wisp of imagination
That disappear like smoke
It’s just the four walls surrounding me
In this cold and old home
(Sighing heavily I) realize thatI am truly lonely.

The Rain

The rain patters softly on my window sill
The little clear drops of water
So simple and so serene

The thunder rumbles across the sky
Lightning makes her presence known
The soil opens up its parched throat
To take in water from the rain

The putrid smell of garbage
Dissolve in the aroma of fresh air
A sensation of goodness overcomes me

The trees blossom in all its glory
The fruits are ripe with beauty
The taste of blessing, the feeling of life
The sudden rush of energy and power

The rain falls in continuous chains
Bringing new life to people-
Its dependants, who would have it no other way.

Results........it got to with success and perseverance

Well today, i got my school results....i remember when i did these exams. The tension was unbearable, i could feel my head pounding and heart racing.the inner voice in me screamed out fear! and then just that one moment, i looked at the results and i passed!!

now, i could feel my heart racing and head pounding, the inner voice in me screamed joy, happiness and excitement!

that's what happened for half of the day, anywayz i now realise i have to work harder to get the same standard of good grades 'cos I've been struggling a bit but i know that the Jehovah I serve wouldn't let me down. He will surprise me beyond my imagination!!.

let me just use this opportunity to give y'all a word of advice..(yeah i know I'm full of them, can't help it these dayz...I'm just getting too pieces of advice to give out)

anywayz as i was saying, if you really want something and you know its good for you then go ahead and get it. life is just too short for you not to pursue your dreamz and interests.

be ambitious and persevere and make sure you put it in your best..

in the end, all that will matter is how much effort you have put in because you will have to stand and face the person you see in the mirror. if you cannot do this then you know you have cheated yourself.

And please, please, please try not to compare yourself with others. every one is unique and the standards set by each person is different.so like i said before, all that matters is that you do your best and not what someone else has done or how they have done it. Be original!!

;...................................;;............................................;

Ambitious
Looking forward, never looking back
Pulling continuously at the hand of success
Using ideas, acquiring knowledge
Mending dreams
The pen and paper, always at work
Imagination comes alive
Hardworking and consistently diligent
Breakthrough calls
Criticism and mockery fails to stop me
The stretching hands of excellence
Ambitions meet fulfillment.

Mothers Day...

today, 2nd of March is the wonderful mothers day. a lot of people often don't apprecaite their mums or don't know how to.others tend to underestimate the love and ability of a mother.

mothers are gifted..they multi-task and thats just the most amazing thing.

Ever wondered how your mum can do the ironing, while talking on the phone and at the same time helping your little brother do his homework and then thinking of what to make for lunch? if you said 'no' then thats perfectly understandable..i also wonder sometimes.

mothers love us far more than anyone can, they are always there to take us back when we really mess up. if you haven't called your mum in like a year or something, please pick up the phone right now and do that.yeah you heard me, i'm talking to you reading this page right now.

show your mothers that you care and apprecaite them for all those years they have been there for you.!!

lots of luv, The poets voice~~~

My Mother
My mother,
Who brought me up at birth
And laid me to rest

My mother,
Who kept me safe
And saw me through my rainy days

My mother,
Who saw through me
And knew the pain I was going through

My mother
Whom I will always love
And cherish till everlasting days above.

Take a moment...think and reflect!

Yesterday i was really blessed! there's something about Sundays...Everytime i go to church my spirit is lifted...(and i know what you're thinking, its not 'cos of the friends even though they do play a small part! lol)

anyways, church is just wonderful. i went to a friends church and i was proud to see all these youths preaching about different things..you know, stuff that actual matter. I always thought that if i was a motivational speaker for the youth, i wouldn't actually go far 'cos they wouldn't listen but i was proved wrong.

the main message was about prayer. when you pray, y'all don't actually know what happens but i tell you it is big. can u imagine God and Satan wrestling on your behalf?....well that's what happens when you pray!!

another thing that struck me was the story told by this girl about her cousin...she had been with her cousin for a long time and they talked about everything apart from God. she was never really sure which side he stood on, with Christ or against HIM.

few days later her cousin died and the thing that hurt the most was not knowing where he had gone and the guilt of not pushing him hard enough to make the right decision.

so y'all should decide today..is it heaven or hell??

finally i want you to try this challenge: try to go through this week without actually asking God for anything, instead praise Him for everything and see how many doors open for you.

have a great week..much luv.xx
